Chronic Disease Review

We currently call patients with the following conditions;
- Asthma
- Atrial Fibrillation
- Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
- Chronic Kidney Disease Acute Kidney Injury Leaflet
- Coronary Heart Disease
- Dementia
- Diabetes
- Hypertension
- Peripheral Arterial Disease
- Rheumatoid Arthritis
- Severe Mental Health conditions
- Stroke/TIA
Patients that fall into these categories should expect to be seen annually and can contact Reception to find out when their next review is due.
Minor Surgery
We are able to perform a number of minor surgical procedures in the surgery at specific times. Please ask your doctor for more details.
Family Planning & Contraception Services
Advice about contraception is available from all doctors during normal surgery hours. However, we are currently not able to fit coils or caps. Once you are content with your form of contraception your doctor may advise that you have regular check-ups with a practice nurse.
Well Man & Well Women Checks
Patients wishing to have a general health check can request an appointment with one of the practice nurses - this will include a blood test, blood pressure check, measurement of weight and height, recording of smoking status, and diet, alcohol and exercise advice. The blood test will include checks on lipid levels and blood sugar to screen for raised cholesterol and diabetes.
Maternity Medical Services
We provide full maternity medical service (excluding intra partum care) in collaboration with the community midwife and hospital. Antenatal clinics are held at Mattishall surgery on a Wednesday afternoon by appointment.
Seasonal Influenza Clinics
Every autumn we run a campaign to vaccinate eligible patients that are at risk of seasonal flu. As well as inviting patients to have a flu jab when they attend the surgery routinely we also hold dedicated Saturday clinics. We advertise these clinics at the surgery.
