Mattishall appointments available on Tuesday 30th October (at risk) and Tuesday 6th, Monday 19th, Tues 27th November and Tuesday 4th December (over 65's).
Lenwade flu clinics are running on Monday 29th October (over 65's) and Monday 1st November (at risk).
Please contact your usual surgery to book an appointment. Patients need to be booked into the correct clinic as two different vaccines are available. One for patients over 65 and one for 'at risk' patients.
Fluenz nasal spray is also now available for all children aged 2/3 (DOB 01.09.14-31.08.16) and children up to 18 in at risk groups. Children aged 4-9 will have their vaccine via the schools programme and parents should contact individual schools to find out more information.
Clinics are running at Mattishall on the 10th, 17th, 29th and 31st October and at Lenwade on the 4th and 22nd October.

NHS Health Checks
From June 2018, NHS Digital, acting on behalf of Public Health England (PHE), will be collecting information about people who are invited to an NHS Health Check. Further information can be obtained in the below link

New Phone System - both surgeries GO LIVE with an enhanced phone system in February
Mattishall Surgery GO LIVE on Wednesday 14th Feb and Lenwade Surgery GO LIVE on Thursday 15th February 2018. The new system will introduce call queuing and call recording and will allow call flows to be monitored. We hope that it will improve the patient experience when contacting both sites.
Urgent 'book on the day' appointments can be requested by calling Reception at 8.30am for morning clinic and at 12noon for afternoon clinic
If you have a seasonal illness which requires more than a pharmacy but you don't need emergency treatment, we encourage our patients to contact Reception and request an urgent 'book on the day' appointment rather than attending an emergency service such as Accident and Emergency.
Withdrawal of Ear Syringing Service
The Practice has taken a clinical decision to withdraw the in-house ear syringing service provided by our Nursing Team. From 1st December 2017 the nurses will no longer routinely syringe ears.
Evidence has shown that removing wax from blocked ears is, in most cases, unnecessary and also shows that syringing comes with risk of infection and ear drum perforation.
Patients will continue to be requested to follow the ear care advice currently supplied instructing patients to oil for 2 weeks and use sodium bicarbonate ear drops for a further 2 weeks.
If symptoms persist patients can book a 10-minute Ear Inspection appointment with the Practice Nurse for assessment and possible referral to the Micro-suction service at Wymondham.
Detailed Coded Record (DCR) - we are now granting access.
We have now enabled the functionality on our clinical system to allow patients to request access to their Detailed Coded Record.
In 2016 we ran a successful pilot with members of the Patient Reference Group to test our process for granting patient’s access to their Detailed Coded Record (DCR) via SystmOnline.
We are now in the process of granting access to patients that have requested access to their Detailed Coded Record – please be aware that a GP needs to check each patient record as part of the process of granting access so there is a considerable administration burden on the practice and we have no set time frame for how quickly requests will be responded to.
You need to be registered for SystmOnline and make your request while logged in using the 'Manage Online Services' option under Your Account.
Please contact Emma Edwards for more details.
Named Accountable GP
Each patient is allocated a named GP who is responsible for patients' overall care at the Practice, and all new patients are informed of who this is in their welcome letter. You can contact the Practice at any time if you wish to know who this is. If you have a preference as to which GP is nominated as your named GP the Practice will make reasonable efforts to accommodate your request. This will not affect your choice of GP when booking an appointment.
